DoubleTake

Today was a wonderful day. This morning I had the pleasure of assisting Lauren’s teacher on a field-trip to the Burnaby Art Gallery.

I find such peace and calm in art galleries. Even 23 seven year old children could [...]

If it’s in Facebook, it must be true.

Today one of my students came to school with a pillow under her shirt where a baby-bump would be.  Last night someone hacked-into her Facebook account and wrote “I’m pregnant” in the status update, and then proceeded to message all her friends saying “I’m pregnant.”  She’s not pregnant.  But today at school she dramatically gave [...]

Monday, monday.

It is 8:35 am. It is a Tuesday. My youngest daughter, Lauren, just asked me “Why can’t everyday be a Monday?” Some days I am just too tired to try to understand what her logic is. Today is one of those days. I’ve been awake early for the past three days; [...]

Reading List

Here are a few books I want to read. Knowing me, I won’t find the time to get through them all, but making the list gets me one step closer.

I slept in this morning, duh, and missed the morning. I’m here now and sitting in a session about transit and all [...]

Leap Year

I kind of wish last year was a leap year, instead.  The kind you leap right over and forget about forever.  But no.  We, my family, are now well into our second year of Derek fighting cancer.   We are all fighting cancer.  I’ve been sick today, spending the day in bed.  My glands are swollen-up [...]

Spring is just around the corner.

I’ve been a mom for 10 years.  Wow..  MissM turned ten on Valentine’s day.  We had a party for her today at Science World.  It was a beautiful day, and I am left feeling tired and hopeful.   The winter is almost over, and spring will be here in two or three weeks.
