One of the new changes for Peacemaker season 2 gets an exciting update from John Cena as his character gets ready to join the DC Universe. While James Gunn is setting up a new franchise through DC Studios, the DCU timeline will feature some familiar faces from the DCEU era, with Peacemaker season 2 set to continue Cena's comic book saga. That said, changes are still on their way for the Peacemaker TV show as it moves over to the new universe, which also includes making a new version of the famous dance montage that was part of the opening credits in season 1.
In a new interview with Collider, Cena shared an update about Peacemaker season 2, which wrapped filming in late 2024. As the show's opening dance sequence became one of the biggest highlights of Peacemaker season 1, Cena stressed that a lot of work was put into the new one that fans will see for season 2, stating the following:
John Cena: Then, when it became such a part of the show, I think everybody this time was just so excited, and I really think that's going to show. I'm very happy with it. I want to say so much more, but I’ll just say I'm very happy with it. Everyone was super enthused and also understood how important it is this time around, and I really hope that shows. I know the show is great. In my mind, the opening number is great. I hope the world agrees.
For anyone who has followed Gunn's film career, it's worth noting that music has always played a fun part in his projects, including his work in the superhero genre. When it came to Peacemaker season 1, focusing on a titular hero who isn't one of the biggest players in the DC canon, the biggest challenge for the series was arguably finding the show's own vibe and themes that fit the character. As such, having a comedic dance number as part of the Peacemaker opening credits was a funny way to lead into each episode that also helped set the overall tone of sorts.
Cena's newest comments about Peacemaker season 2 and what they are hoping to accomplish with the new sequence showcases that they want to make sure it is something that will outdo their season 1 number. Whether or not fans will get to see the Peacemaker season 2 opening credits before the show's Max premiere in August remains to be seen. However, it wouldn't be shocking if a few teases were showcased in the coming months.
Our Take On John Cena's Peacemaker Season 2 Dance Comments

Based on what Cena has teased about the new intro for Peacemaker season 2, it is going to be very exciting to see what work was put into it and to see whether or not the next sequence will be as big of a hit as the season 1 version. While a lot is still being kept under wraps about Peacemaker season 2, the wait will hopefully have been worth it when the show actually returns in the fall. Similarly, hopefully more details about Peacemaker season 2 will start to roll out sooner rather than later as fans get ready to see how the show fits into the DCU franchise.
